Racing UK extend relationship with Simplestream

Simplestream has extended its relationship with Racing UK, the UK’s leading horse racing channel, to provide a media asset management system for all Racing UK races dating back to 2012 and a Live-2-VOD solution for all races from 1st January 2018. Powered by Media Manager, Simplestream’s cloud-based platform, Racing UK’s digital team benefit from a single system to manage the entire Racing UK Archive:

• Archive: The combined Racing UK Archive, comprising over 50,000 race clips, is available across all platforms, including searchable full race metadata sourced from the Press Association, including race, runner, rider, jockey, owner, breeder and trainer information.
• Live-2-VOD: Race replays are automatically generated on an on-going basis using Simplestream’s cloud base Live-2-VOD solution. Race replays and a “Final Furlong” clip are available for every race within 60 seconds of the first horse crossing the finish line.
• Editing: Media Manager including browser-based video editing, including real-time editing, for race commentary and highlights.
• Publishing: Race clips are automatically published across Racing UK’s website, apps and social media channels.

Racing UK intends to monetise its archive by licencing race replay packages to selected partners. To facilitate this, Media View, a companion product to Media Manager, provides a web based interface for licensees to access their video packages, including a range of APIs and integration methods.

Media Manager and Media View provide an out-of-the-box solution for broadcasters and media companies to manage and monetise their archive; with powerful in-built Live-2-VOD capabilities to grow the archive in the future.
