International expansion

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) is the world’s first global, premier, bare-knuckle boxing championship. It’s the first promotion to hold an official state-sanctioned and commissioned bare-knuckle boxing event in the United States since 1889. As part of a plan to expand to international audiences by providing their fan-bases with new ways to enjoy their content, BKFC chose us to build and launch their OTT services across multiple devices.

Solutions

App Platform and Media Manager at the core

Simplestream built a service that revolved around a number of key elements:

  • Live Events, with the ability to run one-off, time-limited events, agnostic to the source of the video stream
  • Live2VOD capabilities, through which live events are recorded to access live event replays minutes after airing live
  • Media Manager, as an integrated content management system (CMS)
  • Video metadata management, including geo rights restrictions
  • Built-in analytics tools
  • Payments in multiple currencies, event passes (one-off), and a powerful couponing system

Results

A quick delivery, for a multi-device experience

Simplestream built, tested, and deployed BKTV in less than 12 weeks, including workflow, management, and front-end apps. BKFC is now present with BKTV on desktop, iOS, Android, Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Roku, Samsung Smart TV, and LG TV.
